Retrieval - using the Site Content

The site makes research materials available to the academic community, but some documents and discussions are publicly open.

You are welcome to participate in, or derive information from any forum which is described as 'Public', while 'Restricted' forums will require authorisation from the moderator or 'owner' of that space.


When you access the site, you will see a display of the forum listing, something like this:

Any forum which is visible to you, should be accessible by you. There also exist 'Private' forums which are invisible to the casual visitor, and to anyone who has not been granted explicit access permissions.

Different layouts may be used in the various forums, but will all function in the same way. The builder of a forum will determine whether it shall take the form primarily of a discussion venue, or a document upload template.

In some instances, you may be given the option to download the whole contents of a forum, or of specific threads within it, for your own local use:

In all forums, you should be given the option to search the content of a forum, or of all the discussion leads in the site which are not specified as 'private'; again, a very self-explanatory form:
