Connecting & Logging On

Users who are engaged in one of the research programmes, will be assigned an identity and password for access.

A decision has been made that this process shall be a manual rather than automatic one; thus, a request for access will go either to a forum moderator or else to the site administrator.

You will then be sent an email which will give you a username and password, and advise you to which forums and discussions you will be granted access, as per this example:

Hello Mr S. Guest,
You have requested to register the user 'sampleguest' at the 'seiproject' forums.
The following information was provided:

User ID : sampleguest
Full Name: Mr S. Guest
E-mail: sample@freeserve.co.uk
Home-page: http://www.sampleguest.com
Details:
Registered Forums:
[ project1 ] Project1 [*]
[ project2 ] Project2 [*]

Your password for this user 'sampleguest' is: 'wyjamiflip'.

You can now login and post to the forums with this user and password at http://sei.e-collaboration.co.uk/OPMS/login.php?site=seiproject&bn=seiproject_project2&loginuser=sampleguest

Notice:
Forums marked with [*] needs the validation from the moderator
You will need to wait for a confirmation of your subscription to these forums.
Thanks for registering !

The above message will appear to come from 'forums@[site.server.name]'

This then enables you to access the forums, for which you must log on, entering the username and password exactly as specified - the system is case-sensitive:

Once through this barrier, you will have full access to the forums for which you have specific permissions, or implicit permissions defined by your access level.
